Irma Closes Courthouses in Florida, Virgin Islands

Federal courthouses in Florida and the U.S. Virgin Islands are closed due to flooding and power outages caused by Hurricane Irma. Here is the list of closures:

U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit

  • Miami: James Lawrence King Federal Justice Building is closed through Friday, September 15.

Southern District of Florida

  • Courthouses in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Pierce, and West Palm Beach are closed through Friday, September 15.
  • Key West: Sidney M. Aronovitz U.S. Courthouse is closed until further notice.

  • The Fort Myers courthouse will be closed until Monday, September 18.

  • The courthouse in Brunswick will reopen on Friday, September 15.
