In an appeal of a merged inter partes reexamination, the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board’s decision affirming the examiner’s obviousness rejection of claims of a patent, which relates to intraluminal medical devices for the local delivery of drugs, e.g., drug-eluting stents, and methods for maintaining drugs on those devices, is affirmed where the Board did not err in its obviousness conclusion.
