Courts in Harvey’s Path Remain Closed

Federal courts affected by Tropical Storm Harvey are closed Thursday, August 31, as heavy flooding remains in the wake of historic rainfall. 

The following courthouses in the Southern District of Texas will be closed on Thursday:

  • Galveston: Emergency Number 409-789-2066
  • Houston: Emergency Number 832-215-8626
  • Victoria: Emergency Number 361-629-7889

The following courthouses in the Eastern District of Texas will be closed on Thursday:

  • Beaumont
  • Lufkin

The following courthouses in the Western District of Louisiana are expected to reopen Thursday:

  • Lake Charles
  • Lafayette

Local updates are posted on the Southern District of Texas, Eastern District of Texas, and Western District of Louisiana websites.

The National Weather Service said about 50 inches of rain have fallen in portions of southeast Texas since August 24.
